In the early evening, Ervin, a carriage wagon draft horse, broke away as he was being unhitched from his wagon at the barn. He ran down several streets in the Ansonborough neighborhood with the wagon still attached before he was finally stopped. He was taken back to the barn. Ervin sustained serious leg injuries and at the recommendation of the veterinarian who examined him, Ervin was euthanized.
