Date of Incident: March 8, 2019

Name of Company: Palmetto Carriage Works

Code: Bodily Injury

During a carriage wagon tour, a 4-year old child was sitting in the back row with his mother. The child fell through the opening between the backrest and the seat and landed on the street. The child’s mother immediately jumped out of the wagon to get to her child and appeared to have sprained her ankle. The wagon driver pulled over and several people (one, a nurse ) got off to help. The nurse called 911. The horse was getting nervous, so the driver continued the tour. When the police arrived, EMS was on site and was checking the mother and child, who were then transported to the hospital as a precaution. The wagon driver was stopped from heading out from a new tour, so that he could be interviewed by police. No charges were made.
