A carriage wagon driver noticed ice across street but could not turn wagon around because of median in the road. The driver proceeded over the ice and the horse lost his footing and slid down on his right side. The barn manager came to help. The horse had tried to get up but could not get footing on the ice. Barn staff was helped by fire department to get tack off of horse. The horse was able to get up. The Fire Department helped passengers safely off the carriage. The horse walked back to the barn. A vet came to check the horse and noted a small laceration on right stifle. The horse was released back to work. The company did close for the day and also the next day due to inclement weather.
